Supportive and Loving Family

I want to say thanks to the members of my family and friends who have been so supportive in this hard time of my life. For those of you who don't know I am recently divorced. This has been a very hard time for me and my kids. There have been several people who have come to me to listen and offer advice, prayers and support. This is very helpful and I wanted to let you know that I truly appreciate it.

For those who might be embarrassed at the fact that I am divorced, I want to say that I am so sorry that you feel that way. Luckily, I know that I made the right decision and I am the one that chose to get out of the bad situation I was in.

Unfortunately I have had several friends and acquaintances come to me with a lot of versions of what happened that have been talked about. I also have a friend that has received a comment which states:

"I was disappointed to read that swipe you made at JoAnn regarding cops and holding Lasca's children hostage. I would not be a good friend to Lasca or JoAnn if I did not speak up to defend JoAnn, because the remarks are untrue. They make Lasca sound like a liar and JoAnn sound crazy. I don't believe Lasca is a liar, but I do believe she is very ungrateful regarding her parents. If I had my way I would lock all 8 of JoAnn's ungrateful, judgemental children in a room, hold them hostage and give them a piece of my mind regarding the way they treat their mother."
I feel bad that my mom feels that all of her children are ungrateful and judgemental as this comment was made by one of her really good friends. I feel like we have all tried and yet have not been able to measure up to her expectations. I am personally grateful for all my mom and dad have done for me and my family over the years. I hope that I have shown her how grateful I am in some respect. I would not be where I am today if it weren't for my parents.

As many of you who have gone through trials understand it is very hard to get though them in the first place; and then to feel so alone and that you are unsupported - Not only was it hard on me to go through a divorce but I felt all alone and have had more things happen since that time.

There are two sides to every story. Unfortunately there are three sides to my story. For those of you that feel like I am ungrateful and a liar - I am sorry you feel this way. Yes, I know some have not gotten over what happened 8 years ago. I am sorry some of my family turned on me at that time and I let them down, but at the same time I had those who still cared and loved me. I have learned from my mistakes and experiences. We are here to be tested and we all make mistakes in our lives.

I just wanted to say I am sorry for those who are disappointed in me for the choices I have made in my life. On the other hand, I wanted to say thank you to those who have not taken sides, yet listened and have been supportive of me. Thank you. And I love you.

Happy Birthday Scott

On January 9th 2009 we celebrated our friend Scott Romney's Birthday. His family abandoned him and went on vacation to visit family during Scott's most important Birthday. I couldn't let him sit home without having cake and ice cream. Actually the truth is I did a cake just so I could put __ __ amount of candles on his cake. Yes, can you guess how old he is? Well I better not say but at least he is not as old as my dad.
Well we had so many candles on this cake that we almost had to call the fire department to come while we lit Scott's Birthday cake. Scott was so excited because he had so many candles on his Birthday cake that he knew for sure he would be seen from SPACE! Well Brian started lighting the candles And Kept Lighting
and LIGHTING and LIGHTING
and LIGHTING and LIGHTING
YEP you guessed and LIGHTING and LIGHTING
and LIGHTING till Brian's arm hairs started to burn. This cake was so hot and bright we didn't think we would be able to finish lighting all the candles. Scott just remember you are NOT as old as my dad. :)
and LIGHTING and LIGHTING and LIGHTING
until FINALLY we got all the candles lit. We sang Happy Birthday to Scott and let him blow out__ __ candles. Yes of course we had to put trick candles on the cake to make things better. We were worried our cake would taste like wax from all the candles but it was a very good cake.
I really do think that Scott was seen from space with all those candles. There was so much smoke in the room that we all needed our own oxygen tanks to breathe.
Happy Birthday Scott. Hope you had a GREAT day!!! Just always remember you are NOT as old as my dad. :)

Happy New Years

Happy New Years! We didn't plan much on New Years Eve because we were up all night the night before. Since we were up and I had been up for a long time my legs were bothering me and I was in so much pain I mostly layed down the whole day. I had told a couple of friends that they could come over if they wanted but I wasn't really having a party and didn't know if anyone was coming. Well later in the evening around 9:00p.m. Our friends came over for a couple hours. We played Family Cranium that we got for Christmas. After we played games we went outside to let the kids do poppers and sparklers.
Look who showed up at my house Michelin mans wife who's name is Monica. We were also thinking of getting out marshmallows to roast by a fire but why do that we have a HUGE marshmallow already!!!
Austin is getting ready to light all the kids sparklers. He is very excited he is now able to light a match and a lighter thanks to scouts.
Here we are freezing out side watching the kids have lots of fun. I don't think the kids realized how cold it was outside.
I didn't want the Michelin's wife to feel bad so we let her get in the fun and let her go back to her childhood years and light a couple sparklers. Sorry Monica I have to give you a hard time since you didn't bring your own coat.
Bailey wasn't sure what to think about all the sparklers and poppers. I think she would much rather watch the older kids do it.
Austin lighting the sparklers for the other kids. I wasn't sitting back relaxing knowing the lighter was in his hand. He makes me very nervous. I guess he has to learn sometime.
Dallin Romney and Tyson decided to stick there sparklers in the snow and watch the sparks come out of the snow.
Tyson was having so much fun. He ran around the grass with his. We were glad he was running around because he somehow got flour and was so sick before the Romneys came over.
Dallin, Tyson, and Austin pulling the string on the poppers. Look in the air see how high it goes.
Oh how cute! Monica and Scott blowing the horns welcoming the New Year.
Before we got out our special glasses and drinks we let each of the kids light there own candle. I'm not sure Monica and Scott were on the same page with us on this one. You could tell Monica was having a panic attack.
Cheers everyone take a drink! Lasca drinking straight out of the EMPTY bottle why use a glass.
Bailey is very happy she is getting to use a very special glass out of Grandmas china cupboard. She was also happy that her (boy)friend Dallin was over to visit also.
Austin decides to follow his mom and gets another bottle that is not empty and drinks out of the bottle.
Oops! I guess this is what your kids will look like on New Years Eve if you give them too much to drink. Notice his hands. Do we really want him holding matches?
Scott and Monica bringing in the New Year with a Kiss.
Lasca and Brian also bringing in the New Year with a Kiss
After the Romneys left we layed down which was a big mistake. It was 11:30p.m. We were watching the T.V. waiting for the ball to drop. Oops I guess you should never lay down before the New Year comes in. The kids stayed up because they are the ones that shot this photo. Yep we fell asleep.
Happy new Year for those that didn't fall asleep!!!
