Taking the Kids for a late night Icecream

Saturday Night around 9:45 pm we left to get an Ice cream from Dairy Queen up on Highway 193. We got the kids the ice cream and went on a little ride down church street and turned right onto Antelope Dr. We came across a police car that had been smashed by a fleeing vehicle. We then saw another cop with his lights on but no siren driving around the neighborhood. We kept on driving because I thought that wasn't very interesting. On Hillfield Road we decided to turn around to go back to the gas station to get gas before going home. As we were sitting at the light a police car flew through the intersection going about 90 mph (keep in mind the roads were wet and icy.) We thought for sure he was going to crash. Since I'm a "deputy dog" we decided we should go see what was going on. Driving past Target we saw police cars in front of the store. Target was closed so we couldn't go in and see. At the intersection by North Layton Jr. High there were more police cars talking to people in the parking lot of Famous Dave's. We still kept driving and that's when it all happened BANG BANG CRASH CRASH the car that had crashed into the police car on Church St and had fled the scene was in a high speed chase with police. The cops decided that because of slick roads they would end the chase. The driver who fled came back and crashed into a car at the hospital intersection and sent a couple of cars spinning smashing them. He finally crashed onto the Zions bank lawn bareley missing the bank. Amazingly he was able to jump out of his car and flee the scene once again but on foot. We watched the ambulances come and use the jaws of life and pull people out. Our kids by this time had finished there ice cream and went to sleep. We stayed around for a while. Channel 5 showed up to do a report. It was on the news today. They did finally catch the STUPID YOUNG TEENAGER that caused this big mess and threw him right behind bars!! The dumb kid wasn't thinking. Yes, eventually you do get caught. We got back home around 1:00 am.
